New York University Visiting Lecturer in New York, New York

The Visiting Lecturer will provide individualized and small group research and thesis support for MA candidates in the general psychology program, including research design, quantitative methods, and scientific writing. The visiting lecturer will meet with and assist students with all aspects of thesis development and completion including conceptualization, study design, data collection, data analysis, and writing in compliance with APA publication standards. Note that this position does not include formal classroom teaching.

The position will begin on January 1, 2024 pending administrative and budgetary approval. The initial appointment is for one year and may be renewed for up to two additional years based on mutual agreement.

We are seeking to hire up to two recent doctoral graduate in Psychology with a strong dedication to student mentoring and/or teaching, relevant research experience including demonstrated facility with research design and quantitative methods, familiarity with the Psychology curriculum and student body, and a commitment to questions of equity and diversity. Both internal and external candidates are welcome to apply.

Applications should include (1) a statement detailing the candidate’s qualifications and explaining how diversity has figured in their academic activities; and (2) example(s) of research reporting demonstrating competence in research design and best practices, and quantitative methods; and (3) a curriculum vitae.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
