HOURS WORK: 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM or as required (7.5HR/ DAY)

COMPENSATION: $ 109,826 to $ 144,146

Summary

The Assistant Director of Business Development will develop new promotional partners who want to leverage MTA assets (e.g., stations, train wraps, etc.) for advertising, activations, pop-up events, and film production and generate interest in and package promotional partnerships for the MTA . Th e incumbent will raise the MTA profile as a high-value marketing asset to brands, advertisers, and organizations to generate much-needed revenue for the MTA. The ideal candidate with sales/business building experience and or marketing expertise can think differently, be creative, and bring new and exciting ideas to the table in rapidly changing environments .

Responsibilities

Increase our annual revenues from promotions, events, and other sources .

Build a strategic marketing plan that highlights the benefits of working with the MTA and drives interest, demand, and repeat business.

Articulate an overall marketing strategy that reflects and supports MTA brand consistency across the entire organization.

Negotiate agreements that cover MTA labor costs and generate measurable revenue .

Create and maintain a Marketing Toolkit; resources and information are to be shared with interested parties to give them a sense of how they can work with the MTA to build their brands. (e.g., advertising packages with advertising licensee, film and photoshoot locations, events, train wraps, partnership programs, etc.)

Partner with Outfron t Media Advertising Concessionaire to deliver partnerships and events paired with advertising, train voiceovers, station announcements, and more .

Proactively work with museums, Broadway shows, sporting events, and other attractions to create "getaway packages," rider discounts, and other partnerships that bring value to riders and revenue opportunities to the MTA; Track leads.

Track and manage leads, those who sign agreements and those who don't (but may next time)

Work with businesses, organizations, sports teams, museums, Broadway shows, and others to generate partnerships , rider promotion s , and discount packages .

Partner with Real Estate and other agency resources on business development leads and projects to use retail spaces, vending machines, etc.

Produce monthly reports of leads, deals , and revenue generated .

Education and Experience

A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field or an equivalent

Master's degree in a related field. (Preferred)

Must have a minimum of e ight (8) years of experience leading sales and business development projects .

Must have a minimum of four (4) years in a managerial or leadership role in a large, multi-faceted, fast-paced organization or governmental body preferred .

An effective negotiator and creative problem solver.

Experience building trusted relationships with senior executives and external stakeholders .

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

The candidate must have s trong quantitative analysis skills, including experience building financial models in Excel and analyzing data to make a business case .

Highly organized, with demonstrated success in effectively managing multiple competing priorities

Familiar with MTA's policies and procedures.

Pursuant to the New York State Public Officers Law & the MTA Code of Ethics, all employees who hold a policymaking position must file an Annual Statement of Financial Disclosure (FDS) with the NYS Commission on Ethics and Lobbying in Government (the " Commission " ).
