New York University Adjunct Faculty - Musical Theatre Business Skills in New York, New York

NYU Steinhardt Department of Music and Performing Arts Professions (MPAP) Vocal Performance Program seeks qualified candidates to teach Musical Theatre Business Skills in the Spring 2022 semester on Mondays from 4:00pm - 6:30pm. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to facilitating invitations to business professionals for attendance at our showcase, including organizing and disseminating feedback from casting directors, agents and managers to our student cohort. Keeping track of showcase outcomes and utilizing data/evidence to inform future adjustments needed in an ever-changing industry post-COVID pandemic. Producing the final showcase for musical theatre majors (graduates and undergraduates). The candidate hired for this position will work alongside the Showcase Director and Music Director in preparation for the Showcase.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in the musical theatre industry/musical theatre business world in order to provide students with the tools to succeed post-graduation when working with agents, managers, casting directors, unions, etc. Ability to equip students with the necessary skills to pursue a career in musical theatre and engage in the business.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in the musical theatre business as an agent, manager, casting director, union representative, or similar position.
