Role Description

SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER sought by SMBC MANUBANK in Los Angeles, CA.

JOB DUTIES: Responsible for the build, delivery, and maintenance of robust, scalable microservices in support of digital bank’s mission-critical decisioning infrastructure. Specific duties include: 1) Build sprint boot APIs using Kotlin. 2) Build the backend service routers as GRPC serve and deploy the services to Azure b clusters. 3) Translate functional requirements to technical design and specifications. 4) Mentor and guide team members towards skills needed for projects success. 5) Design, develop, and engineer solutions that require integration with various cloud services. 6) Determine causes of operating errors and take corrective action. 7) Drive development effectively through outcomes rather than tasks. Telecommuting permitted from any location in the U.S.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Electrical Engineering, IT Management or related field, plus five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate software engineering or related experience in designing and implementing technical and business solutions using Java or Kotlin, including experience in object oriented programming, Sprint boot and scripting.

Experience must include three (3) years of experience in developing and maintaining REST APIs and Microservices; Microservices architecture and cloud-based API management solutions; and translating functional requirements to technical design and specifications.

*Specific skills: Also requires experience or knowledge in the following: 1)Experience in cloud infrastructure including Azure, GCP and AWS; 2) Knowledge of production monitoring tools such as Splunk and Datadog; 3) Knowledge of messaging platforms such as Active MQ, Rabbit MQ and Kafka; 4) Experience in Docker, Kubernetes, Cassandra, Mongo DB, SQL Server and Oracle; 5) Experience working with testing frameworks and tools such as Postman, JUnit, Wire Mock, REST Assured and JMeter; and 6) Experience working in DevOps environment

The salary for this position is $177,029 per year.
