Responsibilities

Direct the operations and expansion of the Area Health Education Center (AHEC)

• Act as a liaison to local and state congressional representatives, pre and post-secondary educational institutions, and healthcare providers, particularly those in rural and underserved areas.

• Participate in the expansion of health sciences educational programs throughout the region and in statewide program planning initiatives.

• Direct policy development and administration, Advisory Board development, and performance monitoring.

• Oversee the pre and post-awards of grant funding, predominately from governmental sources.

• Perform financial management including financial planning; budget preparation; accounting and audit; tax reporting and preparation of an annual report.

• Coordinate communication, marketing, and public relations, including media relations, advertising, brochures, staff recruitment, fundraising, and community relations at the local, state and national levels.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency with 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 3 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management.
