Are you experienced in mission critical infrastructures and are looking to contribute to a global data center

The Colocation Build Program Management (CBPM) team is seeking a passionate a motivated program manager to contribute to the scaling and continuous improvement of construction, commissioning, and building monitoring for AWS Colocation data centers. The candidate collaborates with site planning, engineering, procurement, build, and operations teams globally to achieve measurable improvements to quality, schedule, and cost. The candidate delivers on multiple inflight tasks with aggressive timelines, prioritizes tasks based on scope and business impact, and provides timely updates for progress and lessons learned.

ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to work from the corporate office at the cadence required per company policy.

• Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% of the year, including international travel.

• Ability and willingness to use personal transportation for meetings and job visits away from the office, all reimbursed.

Key job responsibilities

• Work with our regional and global partners to scale, drive, and continuously improve AWS Colo processes related to construction, commissioning, building monitoring, and cost control.

• Identify process gaps and lead initiatives across internal and external stakeholders to mitigate said gaps.

• Review and provide feedback to stakeholder deliverables affecting the build phase, including site qualification, stakeholder engagement, milestone planning, contracting, and quality and handover protocols.

• Provide project management support of build activities in Colocation data centers when needed.

• Provide metrics to measure program achievements and opportunities for improvement.

• Provide guidance to Colo stakeholders of new or updated processes.

• Deliver measurable results that improve Colo quality, schedule, and cost.

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience directly mission critical facilities, including but not limited to data center infrastructure.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.

• 3+ years of construction, commissioning, building automation experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience related to the Colocation data center industry and 2+ years of program management experience.

• Have a strong Technical and Working knowledge of Mechanical & Electrical plant and services supporting mission critical Data Center environments, including on MV & LV Distribution Switchgear, Automatic Transfer Schemes, Standby Generators, UPS, Chillers, CRACs/CRAHs, ancillary mechanical cooling systems plant, and system Automation & Monitoring.

• Effective communication skills, detail oriented, highly organized, and able to work in high-stress environments to maintain calm and respectful interaction with multiple teams.

• Ability to read and review design and construction documents, including contracts, scope of works, specifications, design drawings, control diagrams, sequence of operations, submittals, inspection and test procedures.

• Advanced knowledge Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, Outlook required; advanced knowledge of SharePoint (or similar) preferred.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $93,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
