You will work with all levels of the organization to develop and manage best practice TQM, Lean process, and personnel development. Must have teaching skills that are consistent and decisive while maintaining a mentoring/coaching environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Advanced Product Quality Planning and Program Development

Manage, plan, organize, and participate in the APQP design and development stages for new products or products with significant engineering changes, insuring that customer requirements are met, using the APQP Plan

Coordinate all sample submissions of new product and engineering changes

Development of Control Plans, Process Flows, PFMEAs, and other required PPAP documentation

Manage implementation of PPAP process and maintain PPAP documentation for automotive customers and others who require TFAT, EI/OQ/PQ, and other production qualification requirements

Quality Control

Provide leadership and strategic direction to the Quality Control Department and ensure proper interface of quality function to Manufacturing, Sales, and Top Management

Ensure that products meet customer needs and expectations

Quality Management System

Quality management of the companys products including developing and managing measurement systems that incorporate Customers View of Quality, in-process manufacturing quality and machine capability.

Oversee and direct the overall quality direction of the corporation and the effectiveness of the quality management system, including compliance to ISO 9001 and ISO/TS 16949.

Perform supplier quality assurance audits for assigned suppliers, when necessary

Develop corrective actions to support supplier problems and failures, suggesting modifications and corrective actions by suppliers to meet customer specifications and standards

Maintain a quality assessment system to monitor company objectives

Revises and updates the quality control manual

Take lead responsibility for significant quality issues.

Meet with suppliers, customers, quality representative, and company personnel to discuss and resolve quality problems

Identify areas where product or service quality requires corrective action

When necessary, implement corrective action plans and monitor the effectiveness of the solutions

Support and maintain internal audits and the internal audit schedule

Work with purchasing staff to manage and maintain the approved supplier list and ensure supplier compliance

System improvement request tracking and review

Set up and maintain controls and documentation procedures

Quality records maintenance and document control

Maintenance and update of job descriptions

Leadership

Kaizen leader

Responsible for contributing to and promoting a high performance team

Be a liaison between manufacturing and quality control

Participate on teams that require technical expertise

Responsible for training plans and programs for personnel

Maintain a high level of professionalism

Promote and participate actively in continuous improvement

Maintain working relationships with other department managers and personnel

Assess equipment utilization and operation and suggest uses/improvements

Perform other tasks as directed by manager

Overtime is required

Some travel may be required on occasion
