The Cisco Enterprise Access Switching group is responsible for Ciscos Catalyst 2K/3K/4K/9300/9400 Switching Platforms. With a combined revenue of over $7B per year, this group carries a tremendous responsibility to both maintain Ciscos strong market leadership in existing Campus Access switching, and to drive future growth through innovation in Next Generation products.

Job Description:

In order to pursue an aggressive product development roadmap, the Ethernet Access Switching development team is looking to add a strong, highly-motivated Hardware Engineer in the Austin, Texas development site. For this role we are looking for a candidate that can:

Work in a team environment to architect, design, develop, and release Ethernet Switching systems.

Work with Marketing to understand and prioritize Customer requirements.

Partner with Software, ASIC Development, HW Qualification, and Manufacturing teams.

Utilize a comprehensive cross-functional development methodology that ensures the robustness of the product, with a focus on high reliability and customer satisfaction.

Skills and Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

In depth knowledge of circuit board design concepts, challenges, and trade-offs, lab bring up, and system level design validation.

In depth knowledge of high speed design signal integrity, power distribution, and CPU subsystem design.

BSEE and 6+ years experience or MSEE and 2+ years experience Desired Skills:

Extremely motivated, passionate individual, who has a strong desire to be a team player.

Basic working knowledge of Board Design tools: Cadence Concept/Allegro

Excellent communication skills. Ability to express complex technological concepts, influence others, and emphasize cooperation within a team environment.

Demonstrated ability to consistently meet or beat deadlines.

Desire to go "the extra mile" to successfully complete development & support activities. null
